PHOTOVIXEN

MY VIXEN AWARD

Yesterday I had the honor of WINNING the category BEST PHOTO BLOG at the first ever VIXEN BLOGAWARDS, held in OSLO, NORWAY. It felt truly GREAT to be rewarded for all the work and love I put into my blog. I also got fab award gifts; a CANON camera, flowers, a giant goodie bag and last but not least; the actual DIAMOND shaped VIXEN award. Thank you to ALL OF YOU who voted for me, once or many times more, I appreciate it, A LOT ;) I will post more pictures from yesterday's FUN later.. even though I didn't take that many, because I am not good at photographing and participating at the same time, I tend to get too involved in one or the other.. and yesterday I was either nervous or celebrating ..so... but STILL some pictures were taken.. of course:)

PRESENT FROM PARIS

Erlend just came home from PARIS, after visiting a friend there and checking out the PARIS BERLIN gallery exchange weekend, and brought with him back this beautiful present; a pink and burgundy CHARVET silk scarf. I'm such a sucker for nice wrapping..

THE VOLVO P1800 AND THE 1800ES

A week ago or something I posted some pictures of a red VOLVO I spotted while out Champagne shopping in the west ...and encouraged people to give me info about the car if they new anything about it.. since the only thing I knew was that I thought it was nice looking. I didn't have to wait long for information. Only a day later I got an e mail from my PARENTS (my dad was the person who earlier had encouraged me to do more car stuff on my blog so it was nice with some backing up) who had imediately recognized the car as the one ROGER MOORE alias SIMON TEMPLAR drove in the famous tv-show THE SAINT (in Norway known as  HELGENEN, screened on fridays on norwegian TV, when my parents were younger). The car TEMPLAR drove was a white VOLVO 1800P, a sports car, while the one I spotted was a red  VOLVO 1800ES, an estate, a station wagon.  The VOLVO 1800 ES ran out of production in 1973 and only 8,077 of the ES were built in its two model years.

Another thing maybe worth mentioning about my blogpost about the VOLVO is that I can tell by the statistics on my site that I have had 18 hits from a page called 'car-accident-pictures' this last week. I have had some more viewers then normal lately because of the Vixen BlogAward, but these I am tempted to "blame" on the car post, not minMote and VIXEN. Who knows. Anyways, here are some beautiful pictures of these two Volvo models from back in the days.

CARNIVAL TIME

Walking past ALEXANDER PLATZ the other day and looking at the mannequins with COSTUMES on in the store windows made me remember that it's CARNIVAL season. I have no carnival plans for this year but went home and looked at some POLAROIDS I took some years ago when I had a carnevale in my apartment in OSLO. Had it in february as a sort of delayed birthday celebration. My friends were not too HAPPY about the hole dressing up idea first, but the party ended up being a total success. Here are some of my POLAROID FAVORITES from that night, I never get tired of looking at them.

ERLEND'S BIRTHDAYDINNER

For E's birthday we prepared a hole CHICKEN, the best till this date I think. Even after most of the meat was gone, the room still smelled great from the BONES. Resulting in E fulfilling a long time dream; making his own chicken stock of of the chicken bones, water, wine and some vegetables. Even though the food tasted great; we pared the chicken with white-truffle-butter-sweet-potato-fries and a fresh salad, the HIGHLIGHT of the evening was maybe the wines. We started of with a Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut from a CHAMPAGNE PRODUCER that E has been very interested in ..and excited about lately; JACQUES SELOSSE (more about that producer and his wines in a blogpost I'm planning; a champagne guide for dummies) and then went over to a PINOT NOIR, a 2007 Aurelien Verdet, Nuits St. Georges, 1er Cru La Richemone. Both of them very tasty and definitively worthy of E's birthday celebration. More about AURELIEN VERDET here.
