VENICE I HAVE MISSED YOU

After 3 weeks in BERLIN I am now in VENICE to see the 55th VENICE BIENNALE.  E picked me up in Berlin and then we drove together down here. Seeing the ocean and colors again is so nice, this city is something else. I still have not taken that many pictures, but if you want some of the Venice atmosphere you should check out my pictures from LAST TIME.  Am almost sure the pictures from that visit will turn out better than the once from this one ..it's supposed to rain rain rain ..But we will see!

THE OCA DINNER, VENICE

One of the fun things about being in VENICE during the BIENNIAL is the dinners, parties and receptions that the different countries and institutions host. My favorite this year was OCA's (Office of Contemporary Art) dinner in honor of the norwegian participation during the biennial. I tried to keep my cool when I entered the palazzo where the dinner was held, but everything was so amazing that I could not resist picking up my CAMERA a couple of times during the evening to take a couple of snaps. The food(supposedly catered from a restaurant with Michelin stars), the interior, I can't begin to describe, the nice waiters(behaving like if an italian mom had taken over their body for the evening), and of course the view over the GRAND CANAL. When I left, I realized that I had been a bit overwhelmed ..because all I could think was that I should have had more to eat, I should have taken more pictures, I should have tasted more of the wines.. there had just been to much I liked at the same place.. what can I say.. I just love fantastic food, wine and beautiful places.

I have spent this last week in VENICE visiting the 54th VENICE BIENNIAL ..seeing a lot of ART, BEAUTIFUL places and people, eating and drinking a lot of good food and wine and SWIMMING for the first time this year. Just got home to BERLIN to more SUMMER and it feels great to be home after a hectic week .. but realized that even though Berlin is beautiful during summer ..I have to say that Venice sure made this COAST GIRL miss the OCEAN. Ah..

Being in Venice is kind of like being in a FILM.. so thought I would post these pictures tonight ..and then some more pictures.. of the beauty of Venice ..will follow tomorrow.
