The other day I was inside ..all day ...SICK ..so I decided to catch some FRESH AIR by putting my head out the WINDOW. At the platz, right under the window, this RED CONVERTIBLE was parked and I couldn't help but dream away ... dreaming that I was this fabulously dressed ...not sick... girl looking out the window ..because I had just heard my date ...who was here to pick me up to go do something amazing ..honk the horn on his car. ( At this point I think I was a bit influenced by one of the latest SEX AND THE CITY episodes I had just watched.. nothing like a reunion with that show when you're in bed sick... where Big comes to pick up Carrie in a car and she looks out her window and sees him by the car waiting for her.. of course they end up not going on a trip.. and BREAK UP instead.. but I kind of chose to remember just the nice outfits and the date under the window in a car part)  Ah...  But there I was, in my KIMONO, kind of FEVERISH, alone in the apartment, E at a meeting, soon to arrive home by BIKE, not fun car. So well, some other time maybe. Because I have to admit that one of the things I really liked when I met E was that he knew how to DRIVE... after dating some art and musician types who never had taken their license it was a big relief to meet a guy who knew how to drive a car.. call it silly.. I just like my man to be able to drive.  So even though we don't have a car right now there is still a chance that this DREAM of mine ...of looking out the window and seeing a handsome man in a good looking car waiting for mer ..might be just around the corner.. and not an endless line of kind of UNSEXY and definitely expensive DRIVING LESSONS away.

GIFTS FROM VENICE

E came home from VENICE a couple of days ago bearing GIFTS; nice italian SANTA MARIA NOVELLA soaps and candles. They all smell and look soooo nice, but now our entire apartment smells like ITALIAN SOAP.. I'm surprised by how strong the smell is and my thoughts goes out to the people working where the products were bought.. These are definitively products that should be portioned out, tops one or two products pr room... I almost fainted after this photo session..  Still I love how these products reinforces my idea of Venice as this beautiful old romantic city.

EXTERIORS

This is one of many teasers from the new norwegian film EXTERIORS that will be released up to the films cinema premier the 25th of March. The film is a collaboration between the norwegian director PATRIK SYVERSEN and the norwegian art photographer and director MARIE KRISTIANSEN. She has previously done videos for the norwegian fashion designer FAM IRVOLL and LILLY ALLENS new clothing store LUCY IN DESGUISE. Both can be watched here. 

When I first heard about the film and saw a couple of pictures from it some weeks ago I thought it sounded like an interesting project ..so yesterday when Euforia Film asked me if I wanted to be one of the bloggers to release a teaser for the film, I accepted. A SAD FLOWER

As we were finishing dinner the other day I noticed a sad face that was looking at me through the door. The sad face belonged to one of our BUHU paintings by LARS MONRAD VAAGE. I was thinking that it looked sad because it felt left out because it wanted to hang out with all the pretty flowers in the dining room. I can't blame the BUHU because the other flowers were in the BUHU's colors ...so it probably related to them. Sad because it did or did not get to hang out with the other flowers.. it's sad face and pink color together with the flowers and the vase and the colored top of the CHIANTI bottle sure made a nice picture.

A SUNDAY FOOD PROJECT: HOMEMADE PASTA WITH RABBIT RAGU

E is a big fan of italian style SUNDAY RAGU ..and this weekend we went all out and made HOMEMADE pasta with RABBIT RAGU. The rabbit had been soaked in red WINE for 24 hours and was then cooked for 2 hours with some wine, tomato, vegetable and herbs. I of course ..as always.. have to admit that I was not actively taking part in the pasta making, I was cheering and photographing, but from watching it seemed not very difficult ..and it was super good. Pictures of the result coming up..

CHANGING THINGS UP

After a WINTER with a lot of time spent indoors I the other day came to the CONCLUSION that I was SHITTY BORED with our apartment. My solution was to REDECORATE. I have always been a big fan of redecorating (as a CHILD I was also a big fan of cleaning and organizing.. to the degree that I sometimes insisted on organizing my FRIENDS' rooms if I felt their mess was preventing their rooms to live up to their POTENTIAL... This need is not as strong today as it used to be ..but I still really like to clean when I think about the result, I like the result, I think this might also  be the reason why I was able to work as a MAID in a HOTEL for three summers without boring the living crap out of myself) Anyway, I still often feel this NEED to redecorate, I might have gotten this need  from my mother who once told me that my father used to say that he never knew how the house would LOOK like when he returned home after a couple of weeks of offshore working. So yes, this weekend E and I decided that we had to change things up APARTMENT wise, as we were having a really hard time motivating ourselves to make the apartment look nice and tidy. We didn't just move around the furniture we also made the SITTING ROOM into the DINING ROOM and the other way around. I can really recommend this STRATEGY if you are tired of your apartment, have more than just every day problems motivating yourself to CLEAN and you can't afford a cleaning lady or to just buy new stuff. It put me at least TWO STEPS UP on the mood ladder.
